????Tips to crack GATE Exam: How to prepare for GATE and ESE / IES?

How to study in the last 2 months for IES/ESE & GATE?

Questions like: How will the syllabus get completed? How to do revision in the last stage? How to increase the output or efficiency of my studies? And these questions create a lot of doubts in our minds and affect our capacity of studying.

So, I want to share some of my experiences with you.

About how to take your studies to the next level during this last stage And how to increase your output in less time.

Preparation is something which is focused on exam Only if you have a detailed understanding of the exam and about the needs of the exam then you can take your preparation to the next level.

Engineering Services and GATE are going to be conducted in the next 2-3 months.

And in the last 2-3 months, if you can give a new dimension to your studies then you can take your year-long preparation to the next level.

So, I hope what I am talking about is going to be useful to you Last 2-3 months of my study This is for you Right! Last 2-3 months of my study Right now, most of the syllabus has been completed in the class Whether you are doing coaching classes or you are doing self-study or you are a college student.

You must have completed 80-90% of your syllabus.

10-20% syllabus might be remaining which you are yet to study You might not have even touched those books.

Download

So I just take the syllabus and I divide it into two components Number 1 Subjects Already completed How many such subjects are there? What I believe that 80 to 90% of the total syllabus 80 to 90% of total syllabus at this stage of time the Second category is that which is yet to begin So subjects yet to start Either you haven’t studied them in the class or you haven’t read these subjects at your home.

And these are maybe 10 to 20% 10 to 20% syllabus is still left Your strategy has to be different for both of them.

For the subjects you have already read, there you have to focus on: Revision After Revision, Solving Previous Year Questions.

Thirdly, Take Tests and Evaluate yourself.

And then Further Value Addition Let’s talk about these 3-4 components What’s to be done here? Number 1 is revision The first thing in revision is class notes Right, class notes are the prime source of your preparation and their revision is necessary Apart from Class Notes you must have marked certain things in certain books, workbooks or other sources.

So book or other sources This you will have to revise.

Right, book or other sources To make revision effective you can divide your entire day’s schedule into two components.

Right now, in the month of November when the exam is scheduled in January or February you should give 70-80% time in revision of these subjects and rest 20-30% you can dedicate on these subjects which you are yet to study Revision is not simply reading Yo do revision once You revise the difficult things again and again Things that are difficult to remember require multiple revision and even highlight the important things.

Because it might be necessary to read that part before the exam After the revision solve some questions on those concepts Unless you don’t solve questions, the revision will not be fruitful.

Only when you apply the concepts then you can retain it So the second part which is very important for these subjects is Solving previous exam questions If you are writing GATE For GATE, solve questions of the past 10-15 years For IES, focus on Questions of Prelims right now.

You can practice conventional type questions of Mains after the Prelims.

So focus on objective right now.

There can be two approaches while solving What are these two approaches? Either go with Holistic Approach or with Selective Approach So we can think of two approaches here One is holistic Holistic approach and the second is Selective Approach Holistic approach means that you solve all the questions from 2001 to 2019 This is only advisable to those students who have never solved these questions before either previous year or from workbook Then it is advisable to go for holistic approach But if you have already solved these question while in the classroom, then you should go for the Selective Approach.

or some are already in the workbook Some you have gone through the question papers earlier also Then you can adopt selective approach And you can save your time and that additional time can be used in some other task In Selective Approach what you do is Just check the question paper of any year or any subject and mark those questions which are of different nature Which you feel you haven’t done in the class or not solved earlier.

Mark those questions first. Just tick mark.

and attempt them While attempting, solve them completely and till the last stage And while solving, you have to be focused on Concepts, Accuracy, and Speed You have to focus on concepts, Accuracy, and Speed That is why either holistic or Selective My dear friends! While solving the previous year question mark the questions which you find as difficult.

Which you feel you need to revise later.

You don’t know the solution to these questions Make sure that you mark these questions So that you can revise them once again in the coming days Third important task for these subjects that you have already completed after you have completed the revision and solved the questions what is needed is: Self Evaluation through Self-Assessment Test or through some online test series like that of MADE EASY Self-Assessment through some kind of tests now There are 3 main objectives of the tests Number 1: You want to check what is the level of your concepts If your concepts are of the level that you can solve all the questions.

Second, you need to check your speed And Third: Accuracy So, the basic idea of writing tests and making self-assessment is To check the 3 things What are these 3 ingredients? Number 1: Concepts Number 2: Speed and number 3 which is very important is Accuracy Your Concepts should be sound.

And with that, your Speed and Accuracy should also be good.

So, whenever you are taking a test You need to appear in the test in exactly the same environment as in the main exam You join a test series and take the tests in the same environment.

After the test, please do the analysis of the question paper When you’ll do the analysis of question paper, you will find certain questions that you were not able to solve.

These are the questions that you don’t know and you don’t know their concepts First, mark such type of questions Second, you should also look at those questions which you had not answered correctly.

If you have made a mistake but you could have done it right That means your accuracy is not good And this is a kind of big blunder So, you will have to analyze these questions to improve your accuracy.

After the test finds the solutions to the questions you were not able to solve.

Refer to textbooks, talk to your friends Talk to some teacher.

Whatsoever is the source but find the solutions of such questions This is where the value addition lies If you are not doing so you are not doing value addition.

After the test make a summary of the result On MADE EASY website you will get a summary.

Or you can make the summary by yourself and Paste that summary in your room Write what was the Speed and Accuracy in test-1.

Write how many questions you couldn’t solve and in how many questions you made mistakes and also mention your marks Before you go for the second test you must read the summary of the first test.

So you should keep in consideration that whatever mistakes you made in the first test should not be repeated in the second test So keep on doing one by one and also try to improve your skills You have to increase your speed along with your marks. The same goes for accuracy.

So, What you need to do is to track your progress through the tests.

In test-1, test-2, test-3 and so on When you’ll track yourself properly then you will enter into the improvement mode Only then will you improve And improvising is the only task which is important You have to improve your Concept, Speed and Accuracy In these subjects which you have already read value addition is needed From where will this Value Addition come? And how to do it? So the fourth part is further value addition in these subjects Further Value Addition in these subjects How to do it? This we can talk about Right In these subjects Right! So, what I can suggest you One is this source for your value addition i.e. solving previous year questions Second is this source of value addition i.e. through est series The questions you found difficult in the previous year, refer books for them The concepts that you find here and you think that you haven’t studied them earlier, then add them to this “Value Addition Or, when you write test series, whatever new concepts that you learn will go into this section.

And, If have started revising and you come across something new which you don’t remember again mark it because again this is a value addition So, your value addition is happening through

1.Test 2.Previous year Questions Right? 3. Through the textbook Right! You read any textbook, watch any video or read through any online portal.

From wherever you read.

You saw anything for the first time, so you can do value addition from here.

Usually I suggest to make class notes in the spiral format gives you the freedom to add new things later.

Always try to keep 2-3 pages blank after the completion of every chapter Even these value additions can be added there.

One more point My Dear Friends! Always try to make your notes pictographic inculcate the habit of marking things and adding comments to it This basically makes you more interactive and you can remember your notes Where have you written it.

Why did you write it?

You can recall everything.

You have to do a revision.

You have to solve previous year questions of 10-20 years and minimum 10 years And at this stage focus on objective questions and mark the difficult questions which are of different nature which you feel is asked repeatedly in the exam.

Don’t forget to take tests And when you take tests, make sure you are doing a real-time assessment.

And keep on improving this Now come to the new things The subjects that haven’t been started yet.

You have to study them also and revise these simultaneously.

For these subjects, you have to first make class notes If you are doing coaching then you will make class notes.

If you are doing self-study, then make self-notes. But notes are necessary.

This is where your revision will be focused on Going further Since you are reading these subjects in the last stage you will not get a lot of time to do revision.

you will not get time to solve a lot of questions So keep practicing the related questions simultaneously To practice them in the last moment Practice the questions.

Study in class.

Make notes.

Study the concepts.

And after the concepts are known to you, apply them by solving the problems.

So practice the questions. This part regarding the Previous Year Question.

You might be completing these subjects by the end of December And you may be required to your IES exam in January And your GATE exam in February You don’t have much time to revise them So here keep on solving the previous year questions simultaneously So solve Previous Year Questions Simultaneously Right! Keep doing it simultaneously Apart from these Apart from these take related tests after completing all of this After completing one subject, take it’s test So then you right the test So this is what’s the approach you have to be adopt in this section Because without revision, your year-long hard work comes down to nothing So you need to focus on revision And this is the right time to start with it So you are starting your last 60 days of your study and you have to make it more productive Keep this in mind that if you were studying for 8 hours in May-June And.

Now if you are studying for 4 hours in the month of November or December, then both are equivalent The productivity is double The productivity gets increasing as the date of exam comes closer My friends nothing is achieved without hard work If you keep studying honestly and as per the needs of the exam then these 60-80 days can make wonderful changes and can bring success which even you haven’t imagined You must be thinking now This time I am late and I will plan for the next year.

But My Friends! Every year the situation will be the same.

You have to start your preparation now and don’t wait for the next year.

You can do it and still you can do it this year itself.

Right! Start doing this.

Have confidence in yourself and give your 100% to your studies Just think in these last 60-70 days that now I don’t want to my hometown and make the most out of these 60-70 days.

Right! Keep on writing.

Keep on improvising.

Keep on Revising.

Keep on Improving.

And this is what I can wish for you.

All The Best! Thank You Very Much!.
