The Active Voice: the subject is the doer of the action:

Active Voice >   subject verb                       object  

Cats                       eat                         rats.

Everybody          drinks                    water.

The Passive Voice: the subject receives the action of the verb:

Note: The object of the active verb becomes the subject of the Passive


Passive Voice < Subject verb                       object  

Rats                       are eaten            by cats.

Water                   is drunk                by everybody.

If the sentence is in ACTIVE PASSIVE
Present simple No. H.V. To convert we use Is, Am, Are, + V3
Present Cont. Is, Am, Are +ing V1 To convert we use Is, Am, Are, + Being +V3
Present Perfect Have, has +V3 To convert we use Have               Has  + Been +V3
Past simple No. H.V. To convert we use Was,  Were, + V3
Past Cont. Was, Were +ingV1 To convert we use Was, Were, + Being + V3
Past Perfect Had +V3 To convert we use Had                  + Been + V3
Modals Will, shall, can    To convert we use will, May, should etc. shall, can + be + V3
Indefinite Pronoun Someone, they To convert we do not use people, nobody etc.
